a project for new residential buildings in Prague

New construction of two residential buildings with two sections near the Prosek Housing Estate on Prosecká Street, with commercial spaces on the ground floor of the buildings. The proposed residential buildings are intended to represent accessible residential construction. They are meant to integrate into the surrounding existing development, complement it appropriately, and ensure pedestrian accessibility in the entire previously undeveloped area. more

These two ten-story volumes, with two shared underground parking levels, respect the surrounding development and follow the proportions of the panel housing estate buildings. The proposed residential structures architecturally align with the existing buildings along Prosecká Street, which include panel apartment buildings up to 12 stories high, office buildings, and large commercial areas. Together, this proposal creates a suitable urban street space. On the ground floor, facing Prosecká Street, there are commercial and retail spaces facing the street area. The floors roughly aligned with the terrain are used for entrances to the building, which are oriented towards the tranquil side zones. The ground floor includes plenty of greenery and tree-lined areas, with individual elements creating small seating areas, serving as a meeting place for the residents of the nearby area. The buildings have a block-like shape without projecting sections, add-ons, or other divisions. The concept's strength lies in the rhythm of the whole. The simple facade shapes are detailed with individual segments, from which balcony structures emerge in an irregular grid. The design of the residential building emphasizes simple solutions, austerity, and minimalism. The smooth facade of typical floors is designed using a standard insulation system with plaster. It is rhythmically divided into regular squares or segments, in which various types of windows are designed. In places with balcony windows and doors, or balcony structures, simple plaster is replaced by dark cladding and structures for climbing plants.
